Position Overview
Job Title: Payroll Intern
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Department: Finance
Employment Type: Internship

Job Purpose
The Payroll Intern will work closely with the Finance team to gain hands-on, practical experience in payroll calculations, statutory compliance, and financial data management in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in compiling, verifying, and updating monthly payroll timesheets and employee data.
- Support the processing of statutory deductions (such as PAYE, SHIF, NSSF) and ensure accurate data entry into payroll systems.
- Help reconcile payroll records against general ledger accounts and resolve basic payment discrepancies.
- Maintain absolute confidentiality regarding sensitive employee financial records.
- Perform general administrative finance tasks, including filing, generating reports, and spreadsheet updates.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a closely related field.
- Grades: KCSE mean grade of B– (minus) and above, with a minimum of grade B in Mathematics.
- Professional: CPA Part I, II, or III (K) or equivalent certification is highly advantageous.
- Tech Skills: Advanced computer literacy, with strong practical skills in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets.
- Competencies: Exceptional organizational skills, strict attention to detail, clear communication, and high ethical standards of confidentiality.
