We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Payroll Senior to deliver accurate, compliant, and timely payroll services to multiple clients.

The Payroll Senior will manage end-to-end payroll processing for assigned clients, ensure full compliance with Kenyan statutory requirements, support client relationships, and deliver high-quality payroll services under the supervision of the Payroll Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process end-to-end payroll for multiple clients accurately and on time.
  • Review payroll inputs including overtime, bonuses, benefits, and adjustments.
  • Calculate and file statutory deductions including PAYE, NSSF, SHA, NITA, Housing Levy, and other applicable levies.
  • Prepare and submit payroll returns through KRA iTax.
  • Maintain accurate payroll data, system integrity, and secure backups.
  • Act as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned payroll clients and respond to queries professionally.
  • Prepare payroll summaries and periodic reports for client review.
  • Identify opportunities for additional payroll or related services and escalate appropriately.
  • Prepare payroll outputs for review by the Payroll Manager prior to client release.
  • Maintain proper documentation to support payroll audits and reviews.
  • Support internal and external payroll audits.
  • Reconcile payroll data with accounting records and maintain strict confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or a related field.
  • CPA or ACCA qualification.
  • 3-5 years' relevant payroll experience, preferably within a professional services firm.
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan payroll laws and statutory compliance.
  • High attention to detail, strong execution discipline, and good client communication skills.
