Job Summary

Responsible for supporting surgical and theatre procedures by preparing the operating theatre, equipment, instruments, and supplies while maintaining strict infection-prevention and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating theatre before procedures.
• Ensure surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are available and properly prepared.
• Assist with sterilization and safe handling of surgical instruments.
• Support surgical teams during procedures within the scope of training.
• Maintain theatre cleanliness and infection-prevention standards.
• Check theatre equipment before and after procedures.
• Assist with patient preparation and transfer as directed.
• Maintain appropriate theatre records and documentation.
• Monitor availability of theatre supplies and report shortages.
• Assist with cleaning, disinfection, and preparation of the theatre after procedures.
• Follow established surgical safety and infection-control protocols.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Perioperative Theatre Technology or a related field.
• Appropriate professional registration/licensing where applicable.
• Knowledge of theatre procedures, sterilization, and infection prevention.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure clinical environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
