An established hospital in Makindu is seeking a qualified and professional Pharmaceutical Technician (Pharmtech). The successful candidate will manage the hospital pharmacy, dispense medications accurately, and provide essential pharmaceutical care and counseling to patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Medication Dispensing: Review, interpret, and dispense prescriptions accurately to outpatients and inpatients.
  • Patient Counseling: Educate patients on correct dosage instructions, potential side effects, and storage of medicines.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, track expiry dates, and participate in stock-taking to prevent shortages.
  • Storage Compliance: Ensure medicines and vaccines are stored under proper conditions, including strict cold-chain management.
  • Records Maintenance: Maintain accurate, confidential records of all dangerous drugs and general pharmaceutical transactions.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.
  • Registration: Valid enrollment and annual practice license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB).
  • Skills: Excellent communication, strong attention to detail, and a high level of professional integrity.
  • Availability: Ready to work within a busy hospital shift schedule.
