Dispense and prepare medications: Accurately fill prescriptions and compound specialized medications according to physician orders. Patient counseling: Educate patients on how to take their medications, including dosage, side effects, and potential interactions. Healthcare team collaboration: Work with doctors and other healthcare providers to optimize treatment plans and clarify prescriptions. Medication safety and monitoring: Review prescriptions for accuracy, check for drug interactions, and monitor patient progress to ensure efficacy and safety. Inventory management: Maintain accurate records and manage the stock, storage, and handling of all medications. Patient record keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential patient medication histories, allergies, and interactions. Provide health services: Offer health screenings (such as blood pressure or diabetes checks), immunizations, and general health advice. Maintain compliance: Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations.

Attention to detail: Crucial for accurately filling prescriptions and preventing errors. Communication: Necessary for clearly explaining medication instructions to patients and collaborating with other healthcare professionals. Pharmacology knowledge: A deep understanding of drug interactions, side effects, and dosages is fundamental to the role. Problem-solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues with prescriptions, patient adherence, or drug therapy. Organizational skills: Needed to manage inventory, maintain records, and ensure the pharmacy operates efficiently. Customer service: A patient-centric approach is essential when providing advice and assistance to customers.
