Responsibilities or duties

• Teach the foundational philosophical questions in education including aims of education, knowledge, values, and ethics in education.
• Supervise students in critical examination of educational theories, ideologies, and their implications for practice.
• Conduct research on educational philosophies, contemporary philosophical issues in education, and ethical frameworks for education.
• Train students in applying philosophical thinking to problems in educational policy and practice.
• Develop teaching materials on the philosophy of education in different cultural and national contexts.
• Guide students in understanding the role of critical reflection and reasoning in teaching and learning.
• Collaborate with scholars and policy makers on philosophical discussions on education reform and innovation.
• Setting, moderating, invigilating and marking examinations.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

• Applicants should hold a PhD or a master's degree qualification in a relevant field from a recognized academic institution; and possess vast teaching or industry experience at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.
• Applicants must have served as a Lecturer or equivalent industry experience in a university or institution recognized by the Senate of JOOUST.
• Demonstrate potential for university teaching and/or research;
• At least two (2) years teaching experience in a university.
• Master's holders registered for PhD may be considered
• Be registered with the relevant professional body as required by the field of specialization.
