Background

Braeburn Mombasa International School is recruiting a Physical Education Teacher who may also assume the role of Head of Sports for the right candidate. The position requires a motivated educator capable of delivering comprehensive sports and physical education programmes across both primary and secondary levels.

The successful candidate will play a central role in developing student participation in sports while promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and leadership through structured sporting programmes.

Key Responsibilities

The Physical Education Teacher will plan and deliver PE lessons and sports training sessions for both primary and secondary school students.

The role involves coordinating school sports activities, training programmes, and competitions while promoting active participation among students.

The teacher will organize sports events, inter-school competitions, and extracurricular athletic programmes that enhance student engagement in physical activity.

For candidates appointed as Head of Sports, the role will include oversight of the school’s sports strategy, coordination of coaching staff, and development of sports programmes aligned with the school’s broader educational objectives.

The teacher will also contribute to student assessment in Physical Education, including preparation for IGCSE Physical Education examinations where applicable.

Key Requirements

Bachelor of Education in Physical Education and Sports or a related field.

At least two years’ experience in a similar position.

Registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

Experience teaching Physical Education and Games across both primary and secondary school levels.

Ability to teach IGCSE Physical Education and BTEC Sport is considered desirable.
