Migori County is a county in the former Nyanza Province of southwestern Kenya. It is located in western Kenya and borders Homa Bay County, Kisii County, Narok, Tanzania and Lake Victoria to the West. The county also borders Uganda via Migingo Island in Lake Victoria.
Responsibilities or duties
- Prepare Local Physical and Land Use Development Plans (LP&LUDP), ensuring consistency with the Integrated Urban Development Plan and higher-order plans
- Process development applications (change of use, subdivision, building plan reviews) against zoning/pian provisions and standards
- Coordinate public participation (notices, disclosure, records) and inter-agency circulation
- Draft enforcement recommendations for non-compliant developments for seniors’ action
- Performing any other duty as may be delegate from time to time.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Be a Kenyan Citizen
- Bachelor's Degree in any of the following disciplines: Urban and Regional Planning, Physical Planning, Spatial Planning, or equivalent from a recognized institution
- Proficiency in computer applications including GIS software, AutoCAD, Sketchlip, and planning software
- Membership to any recognized professional body-KIP,AAK (TPC),TCPAK
- Exposure to urban plan writing, zoning and standards application, development control, stakeholder facilitation, GIS
