Job Role

The Physiotherapist is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing rehabilitation programs to restore physical function, mobility, and overall well-being of patients. The role involves working with individuals recovering from injury, surgery, or chronic conditions, and providing preventive care to promote healthy movement. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and skilled in therapeutic techniques, with strong communication abilities to support patient recovery and education.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

  • Provide evidence-based physiotherapy interventions to patients.
  • Support recovery and rehabilitation for musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiopulmonary conditions.
  • Promote preventive care and patient education on physical health.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Enhance patient mobility, independence, and quality of life.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Patient Assessment & Diagnosis

  • Conduct physical examinations and functional assessments.
  • Diagnose movement dysfunctions and recommend treatment plans.
  • Document patient history and progress accurately.

Treatment & Rehabilitation

  • Develop individualized therapy programs.
  • Administer manual therapy, exercise regimens, and electrotherapy.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.

Patient Education & Preventive Care

  • Educate patients on posture, ergonomics, and injury prevention.
  • Provide guidance on home exercise programs.
  • Support lifestyle modifications to improve long-term health outcomes.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other allied health professionals.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews.
  • Maintain clear communication with patients and caregivers.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes.
  • Prepare progress reports and discharge summaries.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical and ethical standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy (BSc Physiotherapy) or equivalent.
  • Valid registration with relevant professional body (e.g., Physiotherapy Council).
  • Minimum 2–3 years’ clinical experience in physiotherapy practice.
  • Experience in hospital, rehabilitation, or outpatient settings preferred.
