We're looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Plumber to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing plumbing systems across our commercial facilities. You'll work collaboratively with our maintenance team to ensure all plumbing infrastructure operates efficiently and safely, while delivering exceptional service to our clients and stakeholders. Your expertise, professionalism, and commitment to quality workmanship will be essential in keeping our operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities or duties
- Perform comprehensive plumbing trade work, including troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and installation of plumbing systems across the facility
- Maintain and repair domestic water distribution systems, heating and chilled water piping systems, storm and sanitary systems, and associated equipment
- Respond promptly to emergency plumbing concerns with a focus on quality workmanship, operational continuity, and minimal disruption
- Execute both temporary and permanent solutions to maintain system performance and operational reliability
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure plumbing systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably
- Complete all assigned work orders in a timely and professional manner with meticulous attention to detail
- Perform maintenance and repairs on kitchen plumbing systems and related equipment, including sinks, drains, and fixtures
- Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of pool and spa systems, including pumps, filtration equipment, valves, piping, and water circulation components
- Support renovation and capital projects through planning, installation, and execution activities
- Maintain accurate documentation of all work performed within our maintenance management systems
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate required parts and supplies to ensure operational readiness
- Maintain organized storage areas and keep tools, equipment, and workspaces in a clean, safe, and well-maintained condition
- Collaborate closely with team members and provide support to other trades as required
- Ensure all plumbing work complies with applicable building codes and local regulations in Kenya
- Adhere strictly to WHMIS, OHSA, and all safety policies and procedures
- Participate in emergency response situations, including leaks, flooding, and critical system failures
- Identify deficiencies, operational risks, and opportunities for infrastructure improvements
- Remain current with evolving plumbing technologies, practices, and industry standards
Qualifications or requirements
- Previous experience within a commercial, hospitality, or large-scale facility environment
- Valid Plumber license or certification recognized in Kenya
- Strong working knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and infrastructure
- Solid understanding of OSH and safe work practices
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems and work order tracking software
- Basic understanding of refrigeration systems
- Experience with pool and spa system maintenance
- Knowledge of local Nairobi building codes and plumbing regulations
- Certification in first aid or emergency response
- Experience mentoring or training junior plumbing staff
- Proven experience troubleshooting and diagnosing plumbing system issues
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Proficiency with hand and power tools commonly used in plumbing work
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly responsible, dependable and capable of working independently
- Ability to remain composed and effective in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong commitment to quality workmanship and operational excellence
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, push, and pull regularly throughout shift
- Comfortable working at heights and using ladders and elevated work platforms
