Job Summary

The Power Plant Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the power plant equipment and systems. This includes monitoring plant operations, performing routine checks, responding to alarms, and making adjustments as necessary to maintain optimal performance. The operator will also be responsible for maintaining accurate logs and records of plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control power plant equipment and systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of plant equipment.

• Respond to alarms and abnormal operating conditions, taking corrective actions as needed.

• Maintain accurate logs and records of plant operations, including equipment status, performance data, and any incidents.

• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.

• Communicate effectively with other plant personnel, supervisors, and relevant stakeholders.

• Participate in training and development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Proven experience as a Power Plant Operator or in a similar role.

• Knowledge of power plant operations, equipment, and safety procedures.

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical certification or associate’s degree in a related field.

• Experience with specific types of power generation equipment (e.g., diesel generators, gas turbines).

Work Environment

This position may require working in various environmental conditions, including outdoor settings and potentially noisy industrial environments.
