Background

Job Purpose

The PDI Technician is responsible for conducting comprehensive, checklist-driven inspections on incoming new vehicle inventory. To ensure that vehicles are thoroughly inspected and if need be, diagnosed and repaired as per the set OEM standard and thereafter tested to ensure quality before release to customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support in performing structured visual and physical checks of the vehicle’s exterior, interior, underbody, and engine bay according to OEM requirements and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Inspect vehicles for cosmetic defects such as scratches, dents, paint imperfections, and missing accessories.
  • Check the functionality of all electrical components, including infotainment systems, advanced driver assistance systems, horn and lighting.
  • Inspect and ensure quality compliance on vehicles from body builders.
  • Check vehicle fluids and ensure they are at the right levels.
  • Install accessories such as floor mats, number plates, mud flaps, and other dealer-fitted equipment.
  • Ensure batteries are charged and functioning properly.
  • Assist in solving new vehicle electrical issues at the workshop.
  • Accurately complete PDI sheets, note any transit damage or manufacturer defects, and coordinate with the escalate to the quality controller for appropriate corrective decisions.
  • Support vehicle fueling at the internal fueling stations.
  • Ensure vehicles are cleaned and detailed before delivery.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Any other as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

JOB REQUIREMENT

Academic Qualifications

  • Diploma in Automotive Engineering or any other related field (preferred).
  • Computer literate.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1-year relevant working experience in the Automotive industry
  • Experience in vehicle diagnostics and electrical systems.
