Job Purpose: To provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for pre-school children, supporting their early development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver play-based learning activities in line with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Observe, assess, and record each child’s development and progress.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health, safety, and wellbeing of all children.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers.
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other staff.
  • Organize indoor/outdoor learning experiences.
  • Attend staff meetings and training.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Level 3 Early Years Education qualification (e.g., CACHE, NVQ).
  • Degree in Early Childhood Education (desirable).
  • Paediatric First Aid certificate (often required).

Experience:

  • Experience working with children aged 2–5 in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of EYFS curriculum and assessment.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Patient, caring, and creative approach.
  • Good observational and record-keeping skills.
  • Team player with strong communication abilities.
  • Understanding of child protection and welfare.
