Job Specifications
Duties and responsibilities at this level will include:
- Assisting in formulating, implementing and reviewing estate management policies, strategies and programmes;
- Recommending the maintenance of buildings;
- Assisting in administration of leases;
- Maintaining an up-to-date register of all land, houses, leases and their occupants;
- Assisting in registration of newly completed houses and buildings, board of surveys and security of estates;
- Assisting in collection of rent, rent reviews and tenant placements;
- Assisting in developing and implementing estate management plans;
- Assisting in preparing of reports on status of estates and houses; and
- Assisting in planning, budgeting and ensuring effective use of resources.
Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must be in possession of:
- Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Valuation and Property Management, Construction Management, Estate Management, Housing Administration, Facilities Management, Business Administration, Urban Planning or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Land Economics, Building Economics, Urban Planning, Valuation and Property Management, Construction Management, Estate Management, Housing Administration, Facilities Management, Business Administration, Architecture, Mechanical/Civil/Electrical Engineering or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Membership to a relevant professional body in good standing where applicable;
- Supervisory course lasting not less two (2) weeks from a recognized institution;
- Ten (10) years relevant work experience four (4) of which should be at the supervisory level;
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.
