Requirements for Appointment
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce (Accounting/Finance Option), Finance, Economics, Business Administration (Finance Option), Business Management (Finance/Accounting Option), or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Part III of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination.
- Registered with Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAK) (Kenya).
- Certificate in Senior Management Course lasting not less than four weeks from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
- Three years’ work experience in a related field.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitoring expenditure on projects and programmes periodically.
- Implementing proposals for raising funds.
- Processing commitment of funds and monitoring expenditure trends.
- Providing advisory services to departmental heads and other stakeholders on financial matters.
- Interpreting and implementing financial regulations, Treasury circulars, letters, and instructions.
- Ensuring expenditures are within voted allocations.
- Developing supplementary financial regulations and procedures to enhance internal controls.
- Preparing management financial reports including monthly expenditure, returns, bank reconciliations, cash flow statements, and deposit analyses.
- Authorizing payments and signing cheques subject to set limits.
- Preparing revenue and expenditure returns in compliance with Treasury regulations and law.
