Position Overview
Grade: GDC 5
Reference Number: GDC/HRM/GRD/GRA/PGGPHY/01/2026
Job Purpose
The Principal Geophysicist will design, execute, and analyze geophysical exploration projects—utilizing advanced methods like MT, TEM, gravity, and micro-seismics—to map subsurface structures, reservoir boundaries, and guide the targeting of productive geothermal wells.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and lead field geophysical surveys, including Magnetotellurics (MT), Transient Electromagnetics (TEM), gravity, and seismic surveys.
- Process and model 2D and 3D geophysical data to interpret subsurface heat sources, clay cap geometries, and structural conduits.
- Integrate geophysical interpretations with geological and geochemical data to build conceptual models of geothermal reservoirs.
- Provide scientific inputs and select target locations for exploration, production, and reinjection geothermal wells.
- Monitor and analyze micro-seismic activity in active geothermal fields.
- Compile comprehensive technical assessment reports and present scientific findings to technical review panels.
Requirements & Qualifications
