KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage seed processing, packaging, and logistics operations to achieve targets.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of labour, packaging materials, chemicals, labels, and other processing inputs.
  • Supervise seed processing activities to meet quality, productivity. and turnaround time targets.
  • Oversee seed packing operations to ensure compliance with quality and labelling standards.
  • Coordinate local and imported seed logistics, ensuring timely dispatch and accurate documentation.
  • Monitor inventory movement and enforce FIFO principles in processing and warehousing.
  • Liaise with transport service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
  • Monitor logistics performance indicators, including transport turnaround time, and freight costs.
  • Lead and supervise factory operations while ensuring compliance with Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (OHSE) standards.
  • Build and lead a high-performing processing and logistics team to deliver operational excellence.

KEY COMPETENCIES AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Knowledge of seed processing, warehousing, and supply chain operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound knowledge of inventory management and logistics coordination.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight operational deadlines.
  • Good understanding of occupational health and safety practices.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Professional qualifications in Supply Chain Management or Operations Management will be an added advantage.
