On behalf of our client, a corrugated carton and packaging manufacturer

producing a wide range of packaging solutions across multiple industry

verticals, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Procurement Manager.

Purpose of the Role

The Procurement Manager will lead and oversee all procurement, import, and supplier management activities to ensure the uninterrupted supply of raw materials and services at competitive costs. The role is responsible for maintaining compliance, quality standards, and operational efficiency in support of manufacturing operations.

Required qualifications & certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement / Supply Chain Management / Logistics / Business / Commerce or related field.
  • Professional certification preferred (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent procurement/supply-chain qualification).
  • Strong working knowledge of import procedures, Incoterms, customs clearance and international shipping.

Experience

  • Minimum 10+ years’ progressive procurement experience in manufacturing/packaging or closely related industry.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role managing procurement/import teams.

Key responsibilities (crisp)

  • Develop and execute procurement strategy for raw materials, packaging substrates, consumables and in directs.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement cycle: sourcing, RFQs, negotiation, PO issuance, supplier onboarding and performance reviews.
  • Lead import operations: manage suppliers overseas, shipping, incoterms, freight forwarders, customs clearance and import documentation to minimize lead times and costs.
  • Maintain and optimize inventory levels (safety stock, reorder points, EOQ) in coordination with production and planning.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives, total landed cost analysis and supplier consolidation.
  • Ensure supplier quality, lead-time reliability and on-time delivery KPIs.
  • Implement and maintain procurement controls, compliance with company policies and relevant standards (including supplier audits).
  • Manage and mentor procurement team; set targets, KPIs and develop capability.
  • Work with Finance for budgets, forecasts, supplier payments and working capital management.
  • Use/drive ERP/procurement systems for PO control, supplier master data and reporting.

Core skills & competencies

  • Strong commercial negotiation and supplier-management skills.
  • Proven experience handling imports, freight and customs procedures.
  • Demonstrable cost-saving and category-management track record.
  • Good ERP experience (purchase modules) — ability to use data for decision making.
  • Strong stakeholder management (production, planning, quality, finance).
  • Excellent analytical, communication and leadership skills.
  • Integrity and adherence to procurement governance.
