On behalf of our client, a luxury hotel based in Gilgil, Nakuru County, we are seeking to recruit a Procurement Officer who will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and ensuring timely availability of goods and services required for smooth hotel operations. The role ensures cost efficiency, quality standards, and compliance with procurement policies within a high-end hospitality environment.
Responsibilities
- Source and procure hotel goods and services
- Process purchase requisitions and orders
- Identify and evaluate suppliers and vendors
- Negotiate prices, contracts, and terms
- Ensure timely delivery of all supplies
- Maintain accurate procurement records
- Monitor stock levels and replenishment needs
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies
- Conduct market research for best pricing
- Verify quality of delivered goods
- Coordinate with kitchen, stores, and finance teams
- Resolve supplier and delivery issues
- Track procurement costs and savings
- Support budgeting and cost control
Skills & Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- At least 2–3 years’ experience in procurement role
- Experience in hospitality industry is an added advantage
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes
- Good negotiation and vendor management skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and procurement systems
- Understanding of inventory and stock control
- Strong negotiation skills
- High integrity and ethics
- Strong attention to detail
- Good planning and organization
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong communication skills
- Analytical and cost-conscious mindset
