Responsibilities
- Sourcing & Supplier Identification: Research, identify, and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors for raw materials, equipment, and services, ensuring they meet quality and reliability standards.
- Purchase Order Management: Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders, ensuring accurate specifications, quantities, pricing, and delivery timelines are clearly communicated to suppliers.
- Negotiation: Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, payment conditions, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality standards.
- Supplier Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate supplier performance regularly, addressing issues such as late deliveries, poor quality, or non-compliance with contracts.
- Inventory Coordination: Collaborate with stores and production teams to maintain optimal stock levels, avoiding shortages or overstocking of critical materials.
- Market Research: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, price fluctuations, and new suppliers to ensure competitive purchasing.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier documentation, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in the relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of three (3) years' relevant work experience in an agricultural or horticultural environment.
- Demonstrated professional competence, integrity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
