Background

Talent Grid Africa, on behalf of an esteemed client, is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Procurement Officer to join a school administration team. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth, compliant, and cost-effective procurement of school supplies, equipment, and services. The successful candidate will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to support operational efficiency and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and managing procurement activities in line with approved budgets
  • Sourcing, evaluating, and negotiating with suppliers to ensure value for money
  • Preparing purchase requisitions, LPOs, and maintaining accurate procurement records
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies and procurement regulations
  • Managing inventory and maintaining accurate stock records
  • Coordinating with the finance team on supplier payments and reconciliations

Key Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a procurement or supply chain role (school or institutional setting preferred)
  • Membership with CIPS or a recognized professional body (added advantage)
  • Strong negotiation, organizational, and record-keeping skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications and inventory management systems
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
