Background

Our client, a premier provider of cutting- edge power systems, HVAC, and infrastructure solutions across Africa, based in Nairobi, is seeking to fill the role of a Procurement Specialist to support strategic sourcing and strengthen supply chain performance within the power and energy sector.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead supplier sourcing, evaluation, and negotiations- Manage contracts and monitor supplier performance- Ensure timely procurement of power equipment, including LV panels and related materials- Drive cost optimization and value improvement initiatives- Enforce procurement compliance and governance standards- Prepare procurement reports and KPIs- Coordinate importation processes including supplier follow- ups, shipping, and clearance- Work closely with warehouse teams to ensure proper inventory management and stock control- Provide team leadership and mentorship

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS- Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field- Professional certification (CIPS/KISM) preferred- 3- 4 years' procurement experience- Mandatory experience in the energy/power sector- Hands- on experience with LV panels and electrical equipment procurement- Mandatory proven experience in importation processes (international sourcing, logistics, customs clearance)- Warehouse management experience (inventory control, stock management, material handling)- Proven team leadership experience- Strong negotiation and analytical skills
