Position – Production Manager (Paint Manufacturing Industry)
Location: Nairobi
Industry: Paint Manufacturing / Chemical Manufacturing
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: Competitive Salary Package

Job Summary
The candidate should possess a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the paint or coatings manufacturing industry and demonstrate the ability to manage production efficiency, safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in paint manufacturing or coatings industry.
- Proven experience in managing production operations within a paint manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of paint formulations, batching, mixing, grinding, tinting, and packaging processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily paint manufacturing operations to ensure production targets are achieved efficiently and safely.
- Manage production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, formulations, and manufacturing specifications.
- Monitor plant performance, productivity, downtime, and wastage reduction initiatives.
- Coordinate with procurement, maintenance, warehouse, quality assurance, and supply chain teams.
- Implement and maintain safety, health, and environmental compliance standards.
- Lead, train, and supervise production staff and shift teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize operational efficiency and cost control.
- Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of production equipment and machinery.
- Prepare production reports, KPIs, and operational analysis for management review.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of quality systems, safety standards, and production planning.
- Strong communication and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in lean manufacturing and process optimization.
- Strong analytical and operational management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
- Knowledge of ISO and quality compliance standards is an added advantage.
