The Production Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating bakery floor operations including mixing, baking, slicing, and packaging. The role involves managing staff, maintaining production standards, and ensuring food safety compliance while meeting daily production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Oversight:

  • Supervise all production processes including mixing, baking, cooling, slicing, and packaging.
  • Monitor production lines to ensure consistency, speed, and quality output.
  • Plan and coordinate daily production schedules in line with targets and orders.

Team Supervision:

  • Lead and motivate production staff including bakers, assistants, and packers.
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor staff performance, and provide training as needed.
  • Conduct shift handovers and team briefings to communicate goals and updates.

Quality & Food Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations (KEBS, OSHA, etc.).
  • Oversee daily sanitation procedures and ensure all production areas and tools are clean.
  • Identify and report any quality control issues and ensure corrective actions are taken.

Inventory & Equipment Management:

  • Monitor ingredient usage and support inventory tracking to avoid shortages or wastage.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure proper functioning of bakery machinery and equipment.
  • Report equipment faults and assist in preventative maintenance planning.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate production records including output, downtime, labor usage, and waste.
  • Prepare daily shift reports and support documentation for audits and inspections.
  • Assist in analyzing production metrics and suggesting process improvements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school certificate or its equivalent.
  • A Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Business Management, or Culinary Arts is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a bakery or food manufacturing environment.
  • At least 2 years of proven supervisory experience.
  • Solid understanding of bakery operations, production equipment, and food safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in reporting tools and basic computer applications.
