Job purpose:
The main tasks and responsibilities of the Programme Analyst, Quality Assurance include:
- Contribute to developing, revising, and implementing organizational policies, procedures, guidelines and tools, including AI-powered tools, to support results planning, monitoring and reporting, particularly those for the development, review, and approval of UNFPA programme documents, ensuring they align with UNFPA strategic plan priorities and established guidelines and standards, and are field-centered/responsive;
- Provide analysis and substantive inputs to inform the development of guidelines, standards, and tools for results planning, monitoring and reporting, in particular, those related to quality programming; and support facilitation/coordination of corporate Strategic Dialogues and theory of change processes for programme strategic visioning and design, in collaboration with relevant units;
- Support the planning and delivery of quality assurance exercises, including coordinating relevant analytical, liaison and correspondence areas of work;
- Produce evidence-based analyses, briefs and presentations on results planning, monitoring, reporting, quality programme dimensions, trends and/or emerging approaches, to inform and support the development of programming reports and advisory notes;
- Coordinate and/or produce and maintain key creative communications products on quality programming, including the corporate country programme document database, and user-friendly resources on programming quality and processes, in collaboration with relevant partners and vendors;
Support coordination with other UNFPA offices on collaborative streams of work on key programming issues.
Education:
- Advanced university degree (master's or higher); preferably in international relations, social sciences, international development, information management, data science, computer science, artificial intelligence, demography, sociology, political science, development studies, public health, public policy, gender, law, human rights, and/or related disciplines.
Knowledge and experience:
- At least two years of relevant experience, preferably in international development, public health, or other related fields; prior experience at regional or country level is an asset;
- Experience in data management, statistical analysis and quality assurance;
- Demonstrable expertise in qualitative and quantitative data analysis; application of AI and digital solutions, monitoring and evaluation and organizational skills are a plus;
- Knowledge of the United Nations system, dedication to the principles of the United Nations and strong interest in development work;
- Initiative, strong organizational skills, and conceptual and strategic abilities are also highly desirable;
- Excellent communications and writing skills, including for preparing briefings, analytical reports, presentations and creative communications products.
Languages:
- Fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of another official United Nations language,, is an added advantage.
