Programme Officer - OFAB (Open Forum for Agricultural Biotechnology)
AATF is an international not-for-profit organisation that facilitates and promotes public/private partnerships to promote food security and enhance livelihoods of smallholder farmers in SSA. AATF works with African governments, private and public technology owners and developers, NGOs, seed companies and African smallholder farmers to identify and access technologies that address farmers' key problems and empower them through availability of a choice of agricultural innovations that generate wealth and health for their families and communities. AATF is a registered charity under the laws of England and Wales and has host country status with the Government of Kenya.
The Foundation depends on the ongoing support and collaboration of different partners and investors to meet its objectives. .

Functions / Key Results Expected
Project Management
• Development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the OFAB Project.
• Support the OFAB Chapters in the planning and implementation of their annual plans
• Support OFAB Chapters to develop and strategy of OFAB nodes in the OFAB Chapters.
Media Management
• Support the OFAB Chapter in the implementation of the Annual Media Awards, and the Project Manager in the coordination and delivery of the Africa OFAB Annual Media Awards.
• Manage activities, ensuring appropriate plans are developed, implemented, monitored, and reported by the Chapters and OFAB Africa.
Reporting and Accountability
• Support the Project Manager in timely submission of AAFT Corporate reports.
• Support the Project Manager in timely submission of reports to the donor.
• Follow up with OFAB Chapters on timely submission of monthly report, mid-term, and annual report in accordance with sub-grantee agreements.

Education:
• Master’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism or any other related and equivalent disciplines from a recognized institution;


Experience:
• At least Five (5) years' experience in communication and advocacy campaigns in a science related field
• Experience in partnership project management/coordination
• Good understanding of the sub-Saharan Africa's agricultural biotechnology and social political and policy environments
