The Maa Trust is a non-profit organization working together with community-owned wildlife conservancies in the Maasai Mara, Kenya. We work to increase the benefits of wildlife and conservation to Maasai families so that they appreciate and contribute to the protection of wild animals on their land.

JOB PURPOSE

The Project Extension Officer will serve as The Maa Trust's lead representative and focal point in the Olderkesi region, responsible for coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on integrated community development programmes. The role will support the delivery of interventions in Education, Child Protection, Gender and Safeguarding, Health, WASH, Infrastructure Development, Livelihoods, and Community Leadership, while strengthening partnerships and promoting sustainable community-led development.

The Project Extension Officer will ensure that programmes are delivered effectively, meet donor and organizational requirements, respond to community priorities, and contribute to improved wellbeing and resilience of communities within the Olderkesi region.

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Community Development, Social Sciences, Education, Public Health, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Project Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years' relevant experience.
  • Experience in Child Protection, Education, WASH, Gender, Health, Livelihoods, or Community Development.
  • Experience in project monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on integrated community development programmes.
  • Supporting the delivery of interventions in Education, Child Protection, Gender and Safeguarding, Health, WASH, Infrastructure Development, Livelihoods, and Community Leadership.
