A Project Finance Officer provides financial support by managing budgets, monitoring expenditures, processing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with policies and donor requirements, and preparing financial reports for various stakeholders.
Budget Management: Assisting with budget formulation, monitoring spending against budgets, and preparing budget revisions as needed. Financial Reporting: Preparing and submitting timely financial reports to donors, internal management, and other stakeholders. Transaction Processing: Supporting the processing of invoices, vendor payments, and fund disbursements to partners. Compliance & Audits: Ensuring adherence to project and donor financial policies, preparing documentation for audits, and implementing audit recommendations. Financial Monitoring: Conducting regular checks and spot-checks on implementing partners to verify expenditures against submitted documents. Risk Management: Monitoring project finances to identify and manage financial risks. Partner Support: Providing financial and administrative capacity building and guidance to partners. Procurement Oversight: Managing and overseeing procurement needs and ensuring compliance with procurement rules.
Financial Acumen: Strong skills in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting. Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting and finance software, such as Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks, and CostPoint. Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Attention to Detail: A careful and conscientious approach with a demonstrable attention to detail. Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with colleagues, partners, and donors. Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of financial regulations, accounting standards, and donor conditions. Problem-Solving: Ability to investigate financial and administrative issues and provide effective advice.
