Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Lead to spearhead the development and launch of our new Cocopeat Business Unit. This role will be instrumental in establishing Kentaste as a key player in the cocopeat market, driving innovation, and ensuring the sustainable growth of this new venture. The Project Lead will be responsible for all aspects of the project, from initial planning and market research to operational setup and commercial launch.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan for the Cocopeat Business Unit.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify target markets, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Oversee the sourcing of raw materials (coconut husks) and establish strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Manage the design, setup, and commissioning of cocopeat processing facilities.
  • Develop and implement quality control standards for cocopeat products.
  • Lead the sales and marketing efforts for cocopeat products, establishing distribution channels and building customer relationships.
  • Manage the project budget, ensuring financial targets are met and resources are utilized efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental and safety regulations.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team for the Cocopeat Business Unit.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, business development, or a related role, preferably within the agricultural or manufacturing sector.
  • Proven experience in launching new products or business units.
  • Strong understanding of the agricultural value chain, particularly in relation to coconut products or soil amendments.
  • Demonstrated experience in market research, business planning, and financial management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in project management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices and environmental regulations is a plus.
