Job Purpose:
The Project Management Officer will support the Project Coordinator in the successful planning, execution, and monitoring of various consulting assignments. The role plays a central part in project coordination, documentation, business development, research, and financial tracking. A critical component of this role is proposal writing for business development, which supports the company's growth and competitive positioning.
Qualifications & Competencies
MSc in agriculture, sciences, engineering, humanities, or any relevant discipline (completed or ongoing).
Strong experience in proposal writing for business development, including developing technical and financial components.
Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written.
Strong financial awareness and ability to support budgeting, cost proposals, and expenditure tracking.
Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent research, writing, and analytical abilities.
Ability to work independently, with high attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
Proposal writing is a key skill and an essential part of the role.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with data analysis tools is an added advantage.
- Assist in planning, implementing, and monitoring project activities across different thematic areas.
- Support the development of work plans, progress reports, presentations, and project documentation.
- Coordinate and schedule project meetings, take minutes, and track action items.
- Support the organization of field visits, stakeholder workshops, and training activities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, reports, and reference materials.
- Organize and manage SCLs electronic and physical filing systems.
- Assist with procurement processes and ensure complete and compliant documentation.
- Coordinate travel logistics such as booking transportation and accommodation for project teams.
- Gather and compile background information on project sectors, clients, and technical areas.
- Support data collection, entry, and preliminary analysis for monitoring and reporting.
- Assist in conducting literature reviews and research to support ongoing projects and business development.
- Support the processing of financial documentation, including invoices, receipts, and activity expenses.
- Assist in tracking project expenditures, ensuring they align with budgets and donor/partner guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with finance teams to ensure accurate reporting and financial compliance.
- Assist in preparing communication materials, client presentations, briefs, and internal reports.
- Support correspondence with partners, clients, donors, and internal teams.
- Document lessons learned, success stories, and best practices for internal and external sharing.
- Actively participate in proposal development, including drafting sections, formatting expert CVs, and compiling required documentation.
- Conduct research on funding opportunities, donor requirements, and competitor activities.
- Support intelligence gathering and contribute to strengthening the company's business pipeline.
