About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Management Officer (PMO) to oversee and manage our irrigation and greenhouse projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, a deep understanding of agricultural practices, and a proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and effective implementation of our agricultural initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets for irrigation and greenhouse projects.
- Coordinate and manage all project activities, from initiation to closure.
- Liaise with stakeholders, including farmers, suppliers, government agencies, and internal teams, to ensure project objectives are met.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management.
- Manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
- Conduct post-project evaluations and identify lessons learned for future projects.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on agricultural projects, specifically irrigation and greenhouse systems.
- Proven experience in managing budgets, timelines, and resources.
- Strong understanding of irrigation technologies and greenhouse management practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Trello).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
