Background

The Project Management Support Officer will be part of the UNOPS Kenya Country Office, which implements a range of projects in areas such as infrastructure, health, and governance. The role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of these projects by providing comprehensive administrative and project management support.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the Project Management Support Officer will be responsible for the following duties:
- Provide administrative and logistical support to the project team, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items.
- Assist in the preparation of project documentation, such as project proposals, work plans, progress reports, and financial reports.
- Maintain project records and databases, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
- Support the procurement process by assisting in the preparation of terms of reference, solicitation documents, and evaluation reports.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including government counterparts, UN agencies, and implementing partners, to facilitate project activities.
- Assist in monitoring project implementation, tracking progress against work plans, and identifying potential risks and issues.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, International Relations, or a related field.
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in project support, administration, or a related area.
- Experience working with international organizations or in a UN system context is desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of other UN languages is an asset.
