Role Context
The Novo Nordisk Foundation is expanding its presence in Africa and is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to oversee and drive its initiatives in the region. This role is crucial for the successful implementation of the Foundation's strategic goals and its commitment to improving lives through scientific research and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets for various initiatives in Kenya and potentially other African countries.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Prepare regular project reports and communicate updates to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with Foundation policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of project management methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Project Management, Public Health, or a related discipline. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in the non-profit or foundation sector.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of other languages spoken in Africa is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in project management.
- Experience working in an international or cross-cultural environment is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex projects from initiation to closure.
Work Environment
This position is based in Nairobi, Kenya, with potential for travel within Africa. The role offers a dynamic and collaborative work environment within a globally recognized foundation.
