Windle International Somalia is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Project Officer (Engineer) to support the planning, implementation, and supervision of infrastructure and other related activities.
The role involves overseeing construction works, ensuring quality delivery, and engaging closely with communities, contractors, and local authorities.
This position is ideal for candidates with strong engineering skills and experience working in Somalia or similar contexts.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct technical assessments, surveys, and feasibility studies.
- Develop engineering designs, drawings, BoQs, and cost estimates.
- Supervise construction and rehabilitation works to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to safety and environmental requirements.
- Maintain accurate site documentation and prepare progress reports.
- Coordinate with government authorities, community leaders, contractors, and partners.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, including safeguarding and accountability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- 3-5 years' experience in engineering design, construction supervision, WASH, or infrastructure project delivery.
- Proven experience working in Somalia.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, or Civil 3D.
- Strong understanding of construction quality control and standards.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and report-writing skills.
