Background

In 1896 three Salvationists went to Kenya to work on the building of a new railway and made their witness while based at the Taru Camp. The first official meetings were held in Nairobi in April 1921, led by Lieut-Colonel and Mrs James Allister Smith. The first cadets were trained in 1923. On 1 March 2008, the Kenya Territory was divided into two and the Kenya East Territory and Kenya West Territory were created.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Land Economics, Real Estate, or related field.

Registration with the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK) and valid practicing license.

Minimum of 5 years' experience in property valuation and land acquisition processes.

Strong knowledge of Kenyan land laws, property markets, and title deed processing.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills.

High integrity and commitment to the mission and values of The Salvation Army.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct professional valuation of properties owned or to be acquired by The Salvation Army Kenya East Territory.

Facilitate the acquisition and processing of land/plot title deeds.

Provide expert advice on property investment, management, and compliance with legal requirements.

Prepare valuation reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Liaise with government offices, legal entities, and other relevant institutions to ensure smooth property transactions.
