CDL was founded in early 2003 by its current Managing Director Lucy Mmari.Within her 14 year tenure in a well established logistics company, She honed her skill in human resources management and thereafter started CDL.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial records, preparing accurate financial reports and statements, managing day-to-day accounting operations, and ensuring full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

Accountant responsibilities include:

  • Gather and monitor financial data (e.g. sales revenues and liabilities)
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statements (balance sheets and income statements)
  • Forecast costs and revenues
  • Manage tax payments
  • Organize internal audits
  • Prepare budgets (for the entire company and by department)
  • Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies
  • Perform month-end and year-end close processes

Requirements and skill

  • + 5 years’ work experience as an Accountant or similar role
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software
  • In-depth understanding of business bookkeeping procedures
  • Solid knowledge of accounting regulations
  • Excellent math skills with an attention to detail
  • Time-management abilities
  • Confidentiality
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
  • Additional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus
