Responsibilities or duties

To provide professional psychological assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for patients experiencing mental, emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges — supporting their mental wellness, functional recovery, and overall quality of life while contributing to a holistic, patient-centered care model within the hospital setting.

Qualifications or requirements 

  • Degree in Clinical Psychology, Psychology or related field.
  • Should be registered by KCPA/KPA
  • Proficiency in psychological assessment tools and evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of ethical guidelines and compliance with confidentiality regulations.

Experience needed

Experience in providing clinical services in a mental health setting.

 

  • Conduct thorough psychological assessments using standardized tools, interviews, and clinical observations to evaluate patients' mental health conditions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practices.
  • Provide evidence-based psychotherapy, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical-behavioral therapy, and other therapeutic modalities, to address patients' emotional and behavioral challenges.
  • Assess and intervene during mental health crises, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions to address specific mental health issues and promote peer support and skill-building.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in clinical psychology and contribute to the hospital's knowledge base through research and publication.
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards in all clinical activities.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development and continuing education to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
