Responsibilities

  • Identify, recruit, and manage strategic relationships with key Kenyan KOLs and influencers to drive brand advocacy.
  • Oversee the product seeding process and supervise the production of high-quality influencer content to ensure accurate messaging.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of core KOLS and foster long-term partnerships for consistent brand visibility.
  • Leverage existing personal networks to secure high-level coverage in top-tier Kenyan tech media and mainstream publications.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and facilitate interviews, press briefings, and media tours.
  • Ensure maximum media exposure during product launches while maintaining daily relations and coverage analysis.
  • Draft, edit, and localize press releases, media kits, and Q&A documents to fit the Kenyan market.
  • Translate global technical specifications into compelling local stories that resonate with Kenyan consumers.
  • Lead the planning and on-site execution of PR events, including product launches, media salons, and fan experiences.
  • Monitor industry news and social media sentiment to proactively manage negative publicity and mitigate reputational risks.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Must possess a proven, existing network of contacts within the Kenyan mobile/tech media landscape and top-tier KOLS.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Public Relations, preferably in the Mobile Phone, Consumer Electronics (3C), or Tech industry.
  • Exceptional command of both English and Swahili in written and verbal communication.
  • Strong understanding of the local digital landscape, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Twitter/X.
  • Results-oriented personality with high energy and the ability to work under the pressure of fast-paced product launch cycles.
