Capwell Industries Limited (henceforth referred to as CIL) started its operations in 1999 with a modern maize milling factory in Thika. It manufactures high quality flour, rice pulses and porridges, using the best processes and technologies available. CIL has since diversified its operations to rice milling, porridge milling, packaging of wheat flour and distribution of fruit juice
Responsibilities or duties
The Quality Analyst will play a critical role in safeguarding product integrity and ensuring compliance across our manufacturing operations. Key responsibilities will include:
- Conduct in-process quality inspections at critical control points (CCPs) to ensure adherence to approved product specifications and standard operating procedures
- Inspecting and verifying raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods against defined quality standards prior to release
- Monitoring and enforcing compliance with HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, and internal Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS)
- Maintaining accurate quality documentation, including batch records, inspection logs, traceability reports and deviation registers
- Supporting and maintaining product traceability systems and mock recall exercises to ensure regulatory and audit readiness
- Investigating quality deviations, non-conformances and customer complaints, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Performing routine and specialized laboratory analyses, ensuring calibration and accuracy of testing equipment
- Conducting hygiene, sanitation and 5S audits within the plant to maintain high food safety standards
- Supporting internal and external audits, regulatory inspections and continuous improvement initiatives
- Preparing timely, accurate quality reports and escalating risks proactively to management
This is a hands-on plant-based role requiring strong collaboration with Production, Supply Chain, and Quality leadership to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology or related field
Practical exposure to QA/QC testing and plant-based quality systems
High attention to detail and strong documentation discipline
Is safety-conscious and quality-driven
Highest level of personal integrity and accountability
Is comfortable challenging deviations on the production floor
Can balance laboratory precision with operational realities
Detail-oriented, efficient, able to multi-task, prioritize and follow projects through to completion.
Results driven with a strong customer service orientation
Experience needed
Minimum 2 years’ experience in FMCG or food manufacturing and in quality assurance & control programs

Strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMP and ISO 22000
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced production environment
