Job summary

We are seeking a technically competent Quality Control Officer to oversee quality assurance processes within a labels and packaging manufacturing environment. The role is responsible for ensuring that raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods meet defined quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Job descriptions & requirements

1. Inspect and verify raw materials against specifications upon receipt

2. Ensure materials meet required quality, color, and performance standards before release to production

3. Work with procurement and suppliers to address non-conforming materials, including rejection, return, and corrective action follow-up

4. Conduct in-process inspections across printing, cutting, lamination, and finishing stages

5. Monitor critical quality parameters such as color accuracy and consistency, print alignment and registration, die-cutting accuracy and finishing quality

6. Ensure adherence to approved samples, job cards, and production specifications

7. Identify deviations early and work with production teams to implement immediate corrective actions

8. Perform final quality checks on finished labels and packaging products before dispatch

9. Confirm compliance with customer specifications, artwork, dimensions, and packaging requirements

10. Ensure only approved products are released for delivery

11. Maintain accurate inspection records, test results, and quality reports

12. Support implementation and adherence to quality management systems (QMS) and SOPs

13. Work with production and management to reduce rework, wastage, and customer complaints

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

1. Diploma/Degree in Quality Management, Industrial Chemistry, Printing Technology, Engineering, or related field

2. 2–5 years’ experience in quality control within packaging, printing, or labels manufacturing in Kenya

3. Strong understanding of printing and packaging processes, quality inspection methods and standards, material specifications

4. Experience working on the production floor and interacting with operators and supervisors

5. Familiarity with quality documentation, audits, and reporting

6. High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
