JOB DETAILS:
This position is part of the Senior Management Team based at the Ipas Africa Alliance Office in Nairobi, Kenya and will provide overall technical leadership, strategic oversight to staff to achieve the organization’s vision, mission and objectives. The position holder is responsible for the oversight of the development and implementation of cross – functional strategies to enhance access to comprehensive abortion care and contraceptive services and will support the Alliance Program Director in seeking new business opportunities for in-country programs as well as donor relations management.The Quality of Care Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Quality of Care team to ensure that all programs are implemented, providing technical support to the Quality of Care team to ensure that implementation of the safe care program is aligned to the quality standards and meets clinical compliance as per the organizational and national technical guidelines. He/ She oversees management of country trainers and mentors to ensure that they are up to date with clinical evidence and compliant with with Ipas standards for provider trainings and post training support.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
• Provides technical oversight to the Quality of Care unit to ensure achievement of relevant organizational strategic output deliverables• Supports the Director in ensuring county representation on policy and technical areas• Oversee quality of Health systems programs through periodic audits on health systems work in the Alliance programmes• Supports the technical sub units leads to ensure implementation of health systems activities in full compliance with Ipas policies• Supervises technical sub unit leads and ensures that technical support is provided to achieve the organizational deliverables• Work with the management in actualizing the Alliance’s strategic plan• Work with the monitoring and evaluation unit to ensure the use of robust frameworks to assess programme implementation and support formative and effectiveness research to inform program design and delivery• Cultivate new and existing partnerships including key partners like the Ministry of Health, County and Sub County Health Management teams and sexual and reproductive health advocacy networks ensuring Ipas engagement and visibility• Represent Ipas in the relevant technical working groups at regional, national and county level• Ensure program consistency and accountability for results across all intervention geographies• Support compliance, donor deliverables, report writing and programmatic reviews• Oversee programmatic oversight of project scope, budgets and timelines
Internal and external suppliers and Third Party relationships:
• Reports to Program Director in reference to workflow, deadlines, reports, and projects• Maintains relationships with regional service facilities and other non-profits/governments• Collaborates with in country technical leads to provide guidance and support for health system activities• Works with associates, managers, directors, and other departments in reference to reports, planning, policies, and procedures
Requirements
Minimal Requirements for Position • Undergraduate degree in Medicine• Masters Degree in relevant field• 10+ years’ work experience• Experience conducting training and assessments• Experience managing staff • 4 or more years of program management experience including managing budgets
Preferred Requirements • Experience working in a clinical environment• Experience working in a non-profit organization • 4 or more years of program management experience• Expereince working with National and County Ministry Of Health
