About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing construction company specializing in waterproofing, renovations, repairs, remodeling, and general construction works, for a competent and hands-on Quantity Surveyor.
The successful candidate will play a key role in project costing, tender preparation, site assessments, contract administration, cost control, and project monitoring.
This opportunity is ideal for a practical Quantity Surveyor who can confidently move between the office and construction sites and understands how accurate costing directly affects project profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, quotations, and tender documents.
- Conduct material take-offs and develop project budgets.
- Conduct site visits, measurements, assessments, and project evaluations.
- Monitor project costs against approved budgets.
- Evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Track project variations and prepare valuation reports.
- Monitor project progress, costs, and profitability.
- Prepare weekly and monthly project cost reports.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Support project managers with resource planning and cost control.
- Prepare tender submissions and contract documentation.
- Assist with contract administration.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors, and project teams.
- Attend project meetings and professionally represent the company.
- Maintain accurate project and cost records.
- Provide management with timely project costing and performance insights.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building Economics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years practical experience in construction projects.
- Proven experience preparing BOQs, quotations, cost estimates, and tender documents.
- Practical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project costing.
- Experience in waterproofing, renovations, repairs, remodeling, or general construction will be a strong advantage.
- Ability to independently conduct site assessments and project costing.
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience using Quantity Surveying or construction-related software is an advantage.
