Job Description

To provide safe, accurate, and high-quality diagnostic imaging services in accordance with professional standards and hospital policies, supporting effective patient diagnosis, treatment, and management while ensuring radiation safety and quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including X-rays, ultrasound assistance, and other radiological examinations within the scope of practice.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining processes and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Operate and maintain radiological equipment in accordance with established procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Produce high-quality, clear, and accurate diagnostic images.
  • Observe and adhere to radiation protection and safety regulations for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential imaging records and reports.
  • Collaborate with medical officers, clinicians and other healthcare professionals in interpreting and communicating imaging findings.
  • Identify equipment malfunctions and coordinate timely maintenance and repairs.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives within the radiology department.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and infection prevention standards within the imaging unit.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to maintain competence and licensure.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of radiation safety standards and quality assurance practices.
  • Strong technical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, ethical conduct, and commitment to patient centered care.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Medical Imaging Sciences/Radiography from a recognized institution.
  • Registered and licensed by the relevant professional body, with a valid practising licence.
  • At least two (2) years' relevant experience in a hospital radiology setting.
  • Experience in digital radiography and other specialized imaging modalities will be an added advantage.
