Operate imaging equipment: Use machines like X-ray, CT, and MRI scanners to perform diagnostic examinations. Patient care and preparation: Prepare patients for procedures, explain the process, and position them correctly for optimal images while ensuring their comfort and safety. Image quality control: Evaluate captured images to ensure they are clear, accurate, and of diagnostic quality, retaking them if necessary.
Attention to detail: Needs a strong focus on detail to ensure accurate positioning, quality images, and precise record-keeping. Communication: Must be able to clearly explain procedures to patients and effectively communicate with other medical staff. Compassion: The ability to reassure and support patients during what can be a stressful experience is crucial.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field is often required. Certification: Professional certification, such as from the ARRT, is essential. Technical proficiency: Must be skilled in operating a variety of advanced imaging equipment.
