Background information about the job or company
We are looking for a Kenya-based young finance professional to join our Outstations Finance Team.
The role primarily focuses on providing financial reporting, compliance and business partnering support across the Etihad Airways’ Africa region. This will be a pivotal role in ensuring all financial related compliance matters are met and ensuring all risks of penalty exposures are managed from a compliance perspective. Furthermore, the role will also require challenging the status quo and identifying opportunities for process improvements across the financial operations from AP, AR, Revenue Accounting and GL perspective.
Responsibilities or duties
- Support the Manager to ensure all financial and tax compliance with financial regulations and company policies requirements are fulfilled in a timely manner.
- Support the Manager to continually identifying and evaluating financial risks and opportunities in the region
- Support in annual budget cycle.
- Continually identify and drive process improvements with all departments by adopting technology
- Providing Financial guidance and advice to Department heads in the Region
- Monitoring and sharing financial performance against budget and provide commentary to explain any variances
- Supporting the development of financial and operational KPI’s
- To participate in project aimed at improving business processes and efficiencies
- To participate in meetings and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholder at all levels.
- Be familiar with applications such as SAP, advanced excel, and Power BI to deliver results
- Provide financial guidance and support to departmental Managers, to help them understand the impact of financial decisions
Qualifications or requirements
- Ability to work with various teams remotely, independently without local supervision
- The position would suite a senior accountant with 4+ year of post-graduation industry experience.
- Finance related bachelor’s degree as a minimum.
- Chartered Accountant or Management accounting qualification or working towards one would be an advantage.
- Minimum of 1+ Years of related experience in finance and tax within Africa region.
- Experience working in SAP systems would be an advantage
- A confident communicator across different stakeholder levels from managers to senior executives.
