ABOUT THE ROLE
A leading Digital Credit Provider (DCP) is seeking a strategic and results-driven Regional Manager to oversee and drive the performance of multiple branches within the Nairobi region. The role ensures operational excellence, compliance, business growth, and sustainability while providing strategic leadership, strengthening credit quality, and fostering high-performing teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Acquisition & Growth
- Supervise Branch Managers and provide strategic direction for business acquisition and market expansion
- Drive loan disbursement growth and ensure regional performance aligns with annual business plans
- Monitor client satisfaction, retention, and competitive positioning within the region
Loan Portfolio Management
- Track portfolio performance across branches, including PAR levels, repayment trends, and risk indicators
- Implement corrective measures to improve portfolio quality and maintain PAR within acceptable thresholds
- Enforce internal credit processes and ensure full adherence to CBK/DCP regulatory requirements
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure regional operations comply with statutory, regulatory, and internal policy standards
- Lead periodic branch audits, risk checks, and operational spot inspections with zero unresolved audit queries
Branch Leadership & Supervision
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to Branch Managers
- Conduct monthly performance reviews and ensure timely submission of branch reports
- Coordinate resource allocation, workflow optimisation, and operational efficiencies across branches
Brand Visibility & Market Penetration
- Advance regional visibility through community engagement, partnerships, and stakeholder outreach
- Identify new markets, customer segments, and product opportunities within the region
Staff Development & Performance Management
- Identify skills gaps across branch teams and recommend targeted training interventions
- Build, motivate, and retain high-performing teams through continuous coaching and a performance-driven culture
Reporting
- Prepare and present regional performance reports highlighting growth, risks, and improvement areas
- Align regional operations with the organisation's broader strategic objectives
- Handle all personal information in line with the company's Data Protection Policy
KEY PERFORMANCE TARGETS
- Achieve regional loan disbursement targets in line with business growth expectations
- Maintain loan portfolio quality with PAR below 5% across all branches
- Drive growth in the regional client base as outlined in the approved business plan
- Ensure full CBK/DCP compliance with zero outstanding audit queries
- Ensure monthly performance reviews are completed and actioned for all Branch Managers
- Drive continuous improvement in staff retention and performance through targeted mentorship
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma/Certificate in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent analytical and risk assessment abilities
- Business development acumen and customer-centric mindset
- Ability to work independently and deliver under pressure
- High integrity, professionalism, and sound decision-making capability
