Background

This is a job posting for a Registered Clinical Officer II position within the Machakos County Public Service Board (CPSB).

Key Responsibilities

The role involves a range of clinical duties and patient care activities.

  • Taking history, examining, diagnosing, ordering laboratory imaging investigations
  • Interpreting laboratory and imaging results
  • Treating patients’ common ailments at outpatient or inpatients health facility
  • Providing community health care services in liaison with other health workers
  • Guiding and counselling patients, clients and staff on health issues
  • Sensitizing patients and clients on preventive and promotive health
  • Carrying out surgical procedures as per training and skill
  • Collecting and compiling clinical data
  • Preparing medico-legal briefs on clinical services
  • Referring patients and clients to appropriate health facilities

Qualifications

The required qualifications include specific educational and professional credentials.

  • Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Clinical Medicine and Surgery, Clinical Medicine and Community Health or its equivalents qualification from a recognized institution
  • Certificate of registration from Clinical Officers Council
  • Valid professional practice license from the Clinical Officers Council
  • Proficiency in computer application
  • Taking history, examining, diagnosing, ordering laboratory imaging investigations
