Nairobi Adventist Hospital (NAH) is a Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) church-established and owned Hospital. It is a tertiary (level 4) hospital located in Nyari west area in Westlands sub-county, Nairobi County, Kenya.
Responsibilities or duties
- Provide comprehensive and good quality clinical services to patients through taking history, examining, diagnosing, ordering laboratory and imaging investigations as appropriate;
- Interpreting the history and physical exam findings as well as the laboratory and imaging results to make a diagnosis and instituting treatment plan for the common ailments at an outpatient or inpatient setting.
- Prompt communication and escalation of medical cases that need senior review to the medical officer (or a specialist) as may be the case.
- Performing care related documentations necessary including discharge summaries, medical reports and certificates in consultation with the medical officer in-charge and/or medical specialists.
- Guiding and counseling patients and relatives on health issues; sensitizing patients and clients on preventive and promotive health.
- Preparing and presenting medico-legal reports and/or mortality and morbidity reports as may be requested.
- Any other role as may be assigned.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or a Bachelor Degree in Clinical Medicine from a recognized institution
- Must be a Registered Officer with the Clinical Officer Council.
- Must possess current Valid Practice License.
- Must possess current Basic life support and Advanced Cardiac life support certification license.
- Must possess Proficiency in computer applications.
Experience needed
At least two years of working experience as a Clinical Officer in a busy hospital.
