Job Description

  • Prepare operating theatres and ensure all equipment is sterilized and ready for procedures.
  • Assist surgeons and anesthetists during operations by providing instruments and maintaining aseptic technique.
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs before, during, and after surgery.
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care, including patient education and counselling.
  • Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures and patient progress.
  • Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control protocols in the theatre environment.
  • Handle specimens safely and ensure proper documentation for laboratory analysis.
  • Support emergency surgical interventions when required.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and contribute to theatre team training.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma in any of the following disciplines: kenya registered community health nursing.
  • Kenya registered nursing, kenya registered midwifery, kenya registered nursing/midwifery.
  • Or kenya registered nursing/mental health and psychiatry from a recognized institution.
  • Higher diploma in any of the following disciplines: kenya registered perioperative nursing or kenya registered theatre nursing from a recognized institution.
  • Registration certificate issued by the nursing council of kenya.
  • Valid practising license from the nursing council of kenya; and
  • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
