Background
The U.S. Embassy in Nairobi is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual for the position of Registered Nurse. This role is crucial in providing comprehensive healthcare services to employees and their dependents at the Embassy. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patient health needs, administering treatments, and promoting health and wellness within the Embassy community.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments and provide primary care to patients.
- Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments as prescribed.
- Provide health education and counseling to patients on various health topics.
- Manage and maintain patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid and life support.
- Participate in public health initiatives and health promotion programs.
Qualifications
- Valid nursing license from a recognized professional body.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in a clinical or occupational health setting.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience
A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional nursing experience is required.
